Craving Junk Food? Simple Ways to Regain Control Around Food

Here are some great ways you can avoid craving junk food. It can be so frustrating when you are ready to lose weight and determined to succeed only to be struck with terrible cravings for junky snacks yet you do not have to fall victim to their pull. If you can spare just 2 minutes to read this article you will discover how to regain control over your junk food habit.

Craving Junk Food

1.Don’t get too hungry. Especially when you are dieting you can be tempted to go long periods of time without eating but this can easily backfire. When you get too hungry you become vulnerable to food cravings and you will reach for the junk food.

2. Don’t forbid yourself. What happens when you tell yourself you cannot have something? Well, if you are like most other people on the planet you crave it even more! Don’t tell yourself you can never eat junk food again, instead tell yourself that if you do have a small portion that you will not eat it alone and have a healthy low-calorie snack such as cut up veggies along with the treat – this prevents over-indulging.

3. Sip hot tea or drink water. You will want to break your pattern of overeating junky snacks and to do this you will want to establish new behaviors to take the place of snacking. When you get a craving promise yourself that you will first drink a cup of water or a sip a cup of hot tea then wait just 5 minutes. You will likely move past your need to eat.

4. Remind yourself of your ultimate goal. It is easy to forget your goal when you are struck by a craving so make it easy to remember your goal of losing weight or eating better. Tape a note to your cupboard or refrigerator to jog your memory and remind yourself that the 30 second of pleasure you get from eating junk will delay the true pleasure of living in a slim and healthy body.
